The Scout-400 sports 480 lines of Resolution, Day/Night automatic operation, and a completely automatic Focus Control —no matter where the zoom lens is set, and it can also
be manually controlled with a PTZ Controller.

The 240 degrees per second speed of the Scout's Pan/Tilt/Zoom mechanism is something you won't find in other Infrared PTZ cameras. In fact, other brands of Infrared PTZ's may be as slow as 7 to 12 degrees per second!
Precise drive motors will give you a smooth running PTZ with amazing sensitive response and 0.9 degree accuracy – which is important when the PTZ is turning to your saved preset points. The Scout-400 gives you every feature you need —including a "Home" position, 360 degree rotation, 128 preset points, 2 different scan modes, 4 different cruise modes and 2 pattern tours.
One of the most unique features of this camera, is that the pan and tilt turning rate is slowed down or sped up depending on how far you have the camera zoomed in. Long zooms move slower, and wide angles move faster. The Infrared LED's (24 long range LED's and 10 wide-angle LED's) are also controlled by zoom length. When you are zoomed out, the wide-angle Infrareds come on to light up the entire area – then when you zoom in, only the long range LED's are used. So the Infrared lighting is perfectly tailored to where you are looking
