 The Night Chaser Thermal System employs a Day/Night SONY Exview HAD CCD “Super Low Lux” Camera with 36X Optical, 12X Digital Zoom for daytime visible spectrum viewing, combined with a fourth generation thermal imager for excellent nightime detection and identification. The thermal imager module has a 50mm lens (F.1.4GE Lens), at 320x240 resolution – and a 2X Digital Zoom feature.

 This combination performs great because it gives you the ability to see clearly out to ½ mile with the Color camera in daytime mode, and the thermal imager can detect out to almost 1-1/2 miles and be able to identify at almost ½ mile. That's performance that will help any Captain to identify threats of any kind, whether they be unidentified boats coming your way or hazards in the water – in any weather (rain, snow, sleet, ice, fog, etc.)

 The Night Chaser Platform is a favorite with users because it not only gives you a stable platform with continuous 360° rotation, but also the ability to look straight up or straight down. So things far out or close to the boat – or even on board – can be seen easily.

 The Night Chaser - is also light weight at a little over 22 pounds, and has excellent heat and cooling stabilization with an integral heater and blower system set on an automatic thermostat. The Night Chaser body is waterproof and powder coated with a marine-grade sealer that fights corrosion and even the effects of acid rain.
